Title: Laboratory Analyst - Windsor Branch
Role: Provides analytical services for clients
by performing requested chemical analyses. Follows established
procedures to perform physical, chemical, and/or sensory analysis of
alcoholic beverages, grapes, grape products, corks, oak, incoming
wine-based materials and/or other related materials. Has positive
interactions with clients and a working knowledge of wine-making topics
to assist with client questions. Has thorough knowledge of lab services
offered. Monitors the flow of samples through the Laboratory and fosters
a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities: Demonstrates knowledge in the proper operation
of instruments and manual procedures used in the analysis of wine and
beverage samples. Assists in troubleshooting equipment, including
routine maintenance and change-out of parts. Maintains clear and concise
records. Completes required weekly and daily quality control for all
instruments and measuring apparatus and maintains records of maintenance
and repair. Works as a member of one or more project teams and maintains
positive relationships with coworkers. Responsible for training new
analysts in recognized company procedures for analysis and reagent
preparation under existing quality system.
Qualifications: 2+ years of laboratory experience. B.S. degree in
science-related field, which must include Statistics, Quantitative
Analysis, and at least two years of college Chemistry (or equivalent
experience). Strong communication skills, with technical writing
experience. Good interpersonal skills and able to work well within a
team environment.
Solid computer skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office programs, Excel,
Access. Exquisite attention to detail.

Title: Laboratory and Products Supervisor - Central
Coast
Role: Supervise Vinquiry services at the Santa
Maria location. These services include overseeing laboratory methodology
and representing our extensive line of products.
Responsibilities:
• Ensuring that the Vinquiry management system is implemented and
followed at all times.
• Ensuring that all wine chemical and microbiological analysis is
carried out according to the Vinquiry Laboratory Standard Operating
Procedure.
• Overseeing all wine chemical tests, instrumental analysis,
microbiological procedures, and standardization of each procedure in
order to achieve optimum quality standards.
• Undertakes formal and informal communication to keep Santa Maria staff
fully informed of responsibilities and up-to-date on procedural issues
and company policies.
• Oversees maintenance of laboratory equipment and procedures to
anticipate malfunctions that might interrupt the efficiency of the
laboratory. Troubleshoots problems with laboratory instruments or
equipment.
• Promotes services by production of seminars, winery visits, and
laboratory customer contact.
• Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals.
• Through meetings with Senior Management, provides input and vital
information for budgets, lab performance and planning.
• Has authority to communicate lab results to clients and to advise
clients on those results as needed.
• Advises the Windsor Supply department on appropriate products for sale
in Santa Maria. Promotes those products to customers. Audits and
maintains central coast resale inventory.
• Specifies, purchases, and stocks necessary office supplies.
• Maintains current knowledge of computer programs presently used in the
performance of this position.
• Participates in continuing educational programs to enhance job
performance and knowledge.
• Attends technical meetings, business meetings and seminars (as travel
schedule allows) that provide vital information for the ongoing success
of the company.
• Oversees the walk-in supply sales program in Santa Maria.
• Coordinates with peers and other Managers in Windsor to deliver
consistent, high-quality services to clients.
